Our Mission:
We're Project For The People CIC. We're committed to tackling food poverty, food waste, and lack of access to nutritious meals for communities across Cornwall.
We bring our services directly to underserved areas, providing fresh meals, meal boxes, and educational opportunities, all while addressing the wider social issues of food insecurity and sustainability.
The Challenge?
With rising living costs and limited access to affordable meals, many communities in Cornwall are struggling.
Transportation barriers, high rents, and limited local job opportunities are causing people to rely on food banks and face growing hunger. We are here to help.

WHAT WE DO
Supper Club
Cornwall is a rural and spread-out county, making it difficult for many communities to access central hubs due to transport limitations and rising costs, with food and bills often taking priority. Our solution is simple – we come to them. By travelling to local communities, we can bring a much-needed service in the form of a Supper Club.
This outreach service will bring a fully kitted mobile kitchen, working alongside local councils and using community halls as venues. Our website will provide daily updates on where we’ll be, and once there, we’ll host a canteen-style feast for the local community.
We’ll also offer small cooking demos to help make cooking feel less daunting. In addition, we’ll partner with other local organisations to provide information on financial, mental health, and wellbeing support. At the end of each session, we’ll distribute meal boxes containing pre-prepared meals made from fresh, dried, and tinned food donations for people to take home.
Private Dining
To help raise funds and awareness for the project, we’ll host Private Dining experiences.
These events are a great way to engage the community, raise revenue, and promote the cause. Drawing from our hospitality background, we’ll offer a range of dining experiences, from home-based meals with family and friends, to outdoor gatherings (with a potential theme), or special occasions.
These dining events will be tiered to cater to various budgets, allowing clients to choose the style of evening they want. It’s an excellent opportunity to not only fundraise but also get people talking about food poverty and the larger issues at play.
Event Catering
Event Catering will be a key part of our funding strategy. With extensive experience in event catering across Cornwall, we can raise funds and awareness without relying solely on crowdfunding or bids.
Catering for local shows, sporting events, festivals, and more will generate income to keep the project running and growing.
By using event catering and private dining as marketing tools, we’ll boost the visibility of Project For The People across Cornwall. All the exposure gained will be channelled through our website and social media platforms, creating wider awareness of the project’s mission.
CASE STUDY
The Inspiration Behind the Project
In 2024, some friends and I volunteered at a local food bank and other community projects. It quickly became clear how severe the issue is – alarming statistics from Truro Food Bank revealed the daily struggles many face just to feed their families.
The sheer volume of food wasted each day – often ending up in landfill – was shocking. The contrast between the affordability crisis and the amount of food discarded highlighted the urgent need for change.
By working with the food bank and other initiatives, we hosted a few community evenings where people shared their personal stories and struggles. These events reinforced the need for greater attention to food insecurity – because in today’s world, food should never be a worry for anyone.
Having gained deeper insight into these issues through my catering background, it’s clear that Project For The People can offer a much-needed service to those in need.
